My Practice #5
This is my practice for the singing of Indonesia Pusaka assesment. I don't think I did very well because my breathing is not so good. I'm going to have to practice more on that to make my performance better.
Music Reflection #22 (13 April 2011)
Today we were given the lyrics of Indonesia Pusaka and we get to practice singing it together as a class since our assesment is next week. Mr. Herry also let us listen to the song You've Got a Friend by Carole King. I've never heard of this song before. Then we are also given the lyrics of You've Got a Friend. I'm going to practice the 2 songs at home for the singing assesment next week.
Music Reflection #21 (12 April 2011)
Mr. Herry informed us that we will be having a written and singing assesment next week. The songs that we're going to sing is Indonesia Pusaka and You've Got a Friend. I will do a research on these two songs tonight. We also watch the rest of our friends do their clapping practice because we didn't have enough time to finish the activity yesterday. Mr. John was absent today so Mr. Herry gives us some notes reading practice to help us compose our composition and put it in notes instead of tabs.It was really easy for me because I'm used to it.
Music Reflection #20 (6 April 2011)
Today Mr. Herry showed us some compositions that belong to some of the grade 9 music students last semester in Finale. I am inspired by their composition because they actually put an effort in making the song beautiful. I like Sabrina's the most. It's too bad that Mr. Herry only show us the compositions of the piano students, I would actually love to hear the compositions of the guitar students last year. I will continue my composition tonight. We then have to do the clapping exercise in a group of 3. I'm with Cindy Febrianne and Melicia. It didn't go so well because we forgot to practice it.
Music Reflection #19 (5 April 2011)
Today Mr. Herry told us to look at the assesment plan booklet he gave us last term and we go through the assesments in term 4. Term 4 is much more busier than term 3 because in term 3, we only have 1 singing assesment while in this term we're going to have 2 of them. In term 3, our practical assesment was playing a classical song while in this term, we are going to compose our own song and play it. We also did some clapping practice. Then, we are given the draft paper for our composition. I will start writing my composition tonight.
My Practice #4
This is me practicing the 2 octaves C, D, and E major scales. I think I improved because now I can do it faster and more fluently, however I made a mistake when playing the E major scale.
Music Reflection #18 (16 March 2011)
Today Mr Herry collected the copy of the daily reflections in our journal. We also checked our friend's music notation quiz that we took last week. I am happy I got 30/30 because I wasn't expecting it since I'm not so good in music theory. I think it is a good review for us because no matter how many times we've learnt it before, we often tend to forgot these things. We then watch some of our friends do their make up test. I will upload my last video practice later at home.
