Music Reflection #17 (12 October 2011)
Today, we watched our friends performing their composition. I was also asked to perform my composition. My composition is not quite done yet so I will finish it as soon as possible. And honestly, I'm not really satisfied with my composition.
Music Reflection #16 (11 October 2011)
Today, Mr. Herry checked the draft of my composition. He gave me some suggestions and I will use his suggestions and revise it at home. mr. Herry also reminded us to upload our video and update our blog. I will do it at home.
Music Reflection #15 (5 OCtober 2011)
Today I learned the meaning of en harmonic. En harmonic is a note that can be written in 2 different formats. Such as F# and Gb because F# is the same as Gb and Gb is the same as F#. Mr. Herry checked my composition and he said it was good. I will do a little modifications to make it as an A A' B A' form.
Music Reflection #14 (4 October 2011)
Today we watched the woodwind students' assessment. Then Mr. Herry asked us to compose a 4-bar composition. I didn't really like it because I'm not good at composing songs especially without my instrument by my side. I will continue my composition at home.
Music Reflection #13 (21 September 2011)
Today I'm hoping that I will be able to play my classical song fluently. I was still nervous and I slipped a couple times when I play. However, my rehearseal this time is better than my last rehearsal.
Music Report #12 ( 20 September 2011)
Today Mr. Herry reviewed about the 7th chords again. I didn't really listen to him which was a mistake because it is not so polite. I won't repeat it again. I also did my singing assessment which didn't go so well. Then, we watched our classmates practice in front of the class. I will redo my music report at home because Mr. Herry said mine needs visual illustrations to make it better.
Music Reflection #11 (14 September 2011)
Today we did the music notation test. I didn't find any difficulty in completing it. I find it rather easy. I will complete my report on the jazz music genre ASAP.
Music Reflection #10 (13 September 2011)
Today we reviewed about the 7th chords and its inversions. I was also asked to rehearse in front of the class. I can actually play it already but I got so nervous so I slipped a lot. I will rehearse it more at home.
Music Reflection #9 (7 September 2011)
Today we learned about the major 7th chords and its chord progression scale. It is easy for me because I've learned it before in my guitar lesson. I will choose a classical song to play for the practical assessment at the end of October.
Music Reflection #8 (24 August 2011)
Today Mr. Herry reviewed about the major and minor scales. I am familiar with the major scales but I am not familiar with the minor scales especially since there are 3 types of minor scales. I found out that the interval of minor scale is 1 1/2 1 1 1/2 1 1. But I'm not sure whether this a Melodic minor scale, Harmonic minor scale or Natural minor scale. Then we have the rest of the group presentations.
Music Reflection #7 (16 August 2011)
Today we did our presentation about the Western Music Genres. My group went first, we did kind of good but we blanked out when Mr. Herry question us. I should have read more about the genre I focused in so I will be able to answer his questions next time. I will rehearse at home for my singing assessment next week.
Music Reflection #6 (10 August 2011)
Today is also the singing assessment of the Western music genre. There wasn't any time for me to redo today so I will do mine next week.

Music Reflection #5 (9 August 2011)
Today is the second day of the singing assesment of a Western song. I did my assesment today but I coughed in the middle of the song and I wasn't able to continue it because of the shortness of my breath. This is because I haven't been really fit in the past few days however, I still have to do my assesment so I will redo it tomorrow. I want to change my song to "Tim McGraw" by Taylor Swift because it's a slower song so hopefully I will be able to sing well despite my conditions. I will rehease that song at home.
Music Reflection #4 (3 August 2011)
Today is the assesment day of singing a Western song. My favourite was Anti's, I think she has a really good voice. I haven't do my assesment so I'll be doing it next Tuesday. I was so nervous but good thing I didn't get my turn today. This gives me more time to rehearse at home to improve my performance.
Music Reflection #3 (2 August 2011)
Today Mr. Herry distributed 2 handouts about the 7th chords (major7, minor7, and diminished7) and he discussed it at the end of the class. I was able to follow the discussion because I'm familiar with it since I learned it before in my guitar course outside the school and at school itself during last year's music session. He also asked what song we will be singing next week. I will be singing the song "Bubbly" by Colbie Caillat while accompanying myself with the guitar and I will practice it at home for tomorrow's singing assesment.
Music Reflection #2 (27 July 2011)
Today Mr. Herry makes us sing our school song. Because most of the new students aren't familiar yet with our school song, Mr. Herry asked all of the old students to stand in front of the class and sing the song with pride. Mr. Herry doesn't let us read the lyrics while singing, but luckily, every one of us memorized the lyrics of our school song already. At first we sang badly because our voices were really soft but we improved towards the end. Then Mr. Herry introduced the song to the new students. I feel this is a bit useless for the old students but yet it is useful to the new students because they're gonna have to memorize it sooner or later. Mr. Herry then explained about the major scales. I will choose a song to sing for next week's assesment and rehearse it at home.

Music Reflection #1 (26 July 2011)
Today was the first music session in grade 10. There are a lot of new students in our music class that's why now we have 2 music classes in the tenth grade. Mr. Herry asked all of the new students to stand in front of the class then they are to introduce themselves. They must mention 3 things; their name, their previous school, where they live, and what instrument they play. Then, Mr. Herry wrote down the list of the 4 instrument groups; woodwind, piano, string, and guitar on the white board. I am listed in the guitar group because that was the instrument I chose. After that, mr. herry discussed about some of the assesments that we will be having this term and he also gave us a pop quiz about the music notation. I have no difficulty in doing it because I've learned it a couple of times before. I will choose a western music to sing nect week and I will rehearse it at home.

My Practice #7
This is a video of me practicing my music composition. I think I did quite good however I need to do more practice to make it more fluent and to lessen my mistakes.
Music Reflection #30 (11 May 2011)
Today Me. Herry checks who have submitted their final copy. I've submitted both the hard copy and the soft copy. We then watch some of our friends practice their composition in front of the class. I will practice mine more at home.
Music Reflection #29 (10 May 2011)
Today we watched some inspirational videos from youtube. Then, we listen to some of our friends practicing their composition in front of the class. I'm going to practice my composition at home and post a video of my practice in my blog.
